In the late Summer and early Autumn the villages of Greece are stirring with celebration.
The air is filled with the sound of bouzouki music and the smell of delicious Greek food.
In Madison, Wisconsin, Greek Fest, the City's oldest ethinc festival, is just around the corner. Sponsored by Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Madison.

Saturday Evening "Kafeneion" (Café) 3pm - 9pm

MENU: Greek Sampler Plate - a delicious assortment of village appetizers
Greek wine and beer
Parthenon Restaurant Gyros
Ethnic Pastry Bake Sale - Homemade ethinc pastries while supplies last!
Baklava, Kataifi, Galataburico (rich custard in filo dough),
Kourambiedes(shortbread cookies with powedered sugar), Paximathia(Greek Boscotti)
as well as traditional Russian, Serbian and other ethnic treats!

Sunday Full Festival Day 11am - 6pm

MENU: Greek-style dinners of Lamb Kabob with rice, Greek salad and pita bread
Chicken Kabob with Greek Salad, and pita bread
Parthenon Restaurant Gyros
Sampler Vegetarian Plate includes spanakopeta, rice, bread, Greek salad and olives.
Also new this year is a Pasticio Plate (Greek Lasagna)
